Your journey begins in Tangier, where European influences meet Moroccan tradition along its bustling streets and scenic coastline. From there, visit the artistic haven of Asilah, with its white-washed buildings and stunning murals. Then, head to Tetouan, a UNESCO-listed city brimming with Andalusian architecture and culture. Finally, discover the tranquil beauty of Chefchaouen, famous for its blue-painted streets and relaxed atmosphere, nestled in the Rif Mountains.

Suggested itinerary

    • On arrival day, your private driver will pick you up at the airport. Settle into your guest house for 2 nights, which is located next to the Grand Socco markets and has a swimming pool.

    • In the afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of the medina (duration 3h00 approx). You'll explore the souks of the medina, the small streets of the food souk, and the artists' studios. You'll then go up to the kasbah, which was completely renovated in 2021: Superb little streets, white houses and views of the sea.

    • Enjoy a walk under the sun by the sea on the new corniche, visit the Kasbah museum for history as well as modern art, relax in Perdicaris Park with its old villa, surrounded by pines and a superb view of the sea.

    • Cultural visits:

      • The American Legation Museum (the only US National Historic Landmark located in a foreign country)

      • The Lorin Foundation to learn more about the artists who lived in Tangier (Matisse, Paul Bowles, Paul Morand, Mohamed Choukri..)

      • Villa Harris museum in the Malabata district on the other side of the bay (Moroccan and European Orientalist painters)

    • Possibility to schedule the guided city tour on day 2 instead of on day 1.

    • Cape Spartel: located at the Strait of Gibraltar where the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea meet. Enjoy views of Spain from the lighthouse.

    • The caves of Hercules: a mythical place, quite touristy nowadays.

    • The beaches of Achakar: huge sandy beaches on the Atlantic side: stop for a swim, a walk or just a mint tea!

    • Leisure visit of Asilah: A small white town whose ramparts cling to the rocks, Asilah is renowned for its crafts and art galleries. Stroll through the medina at your leisure. This old Portuguese city has kept its charm intact with its ramparts & its bastion, its donkeys in the medina, and the rifaines still in traditional costume who come to sell their products at the market.

    • Dinner and night in an eco-lodge guest house 7km south of Asilah: The Berbari.

    • Breakfast at Berbari guest house, then back on the road, towards the Mediterranean. 1h30 drive from Asilah to Tetouan, on the mediterranean coast.

    • Tetouan, a piece of Spain in Morocco. Little Granada, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, surprises with its animation and its Spanish atmosphere. Lose yourself in its white medina: alleys covered with ribbed vaults, facades adorned with forged arabesques, rich Andalusian residences.

    • The secret mountains of the Rif are waiting for you. The 65 km/ 40 miles to reach blue city of Chefchaouen wind through the hinterland. Another face of the region, an old-fashioned rural life.

    • Arrival in Chefchouan in the afternoon and night in a lodge nearby.

    • Located 600 m (1970 ft) above sea level, it is built on the mountainside. Lose yourself in the small blue alleys. Take your time for pictures on some of the best instagrammable spots in the world.

    • Then visit the kasbah (garden and ethnographic museum), climb up to the sacred source of Ras El-Ma which springs

      from the mountain, admire the work of the craftsmen weaving carpets. Walk up the path on the hill above the town: it's a sporty walk but the breathtaking view is worth it.

    • Return transfer to Tangier airport in the afternoon.
